This is a Normally Open Contact Switch which makes or closes when the operating lever is depressed. It contains sturdy, self wiping copper to carbon contacts to work at up to 250 volts AC or DC.
This cast aluminum switch is designed specifically for use on Collapsible Gates or Sliding Doors which require a separate electrical gate contact. The GA-1 is positively opened when the roller leaves the operating lever. It is maintained in the open position by the force of gravity.
Because this is a gravity operated switch it must be mounted Horizontally with the Operating Lever DOWN. The contacts are attached to the body of the switch housing thus permitting the switch to be mounted either Right or Left handed.
